Carol Winter, a tireless advocate for the marginalized in Peterborough, has died.
Winter died Thursday morning in hospital of complications from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Although always ready to speak up for the less fortunate, the ill or those in conflict with the law, Winter avoided the limelight and would always deflect any praise for her work to others.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no obituary printed or celebration of her life.

She did agree to a party to be held this summer at Emmanuel Church on George Street. The one thing she did ask specifically for was a bouncy castle for the kids.
