Conservation officers killed a female black bear and two cubs after a woman was attacked in her home by a bear in Mission early Sunday.
According to conservation officer Murray Smith, a 21-year-old woman went to the back door of her home on Wren Street around 1:30 a.m after her dogs started barking.
She opened the door and came face-to-face with a female black bear that then entered the house and knocked the woman down before biting her in the back.
The woman’s boyfriend chased the bear out of the house.

She was taken to hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
Conservation officers found the female bear and two cubs behind the house and killed them.
One conservation officer was also bitten by the bear and needed stitches in her leg.
There have been 245 bear call reports in Mission this year, Smith said. Most bears were drawn to the area by garbage that was not properly secured.
