Woman, 24, charged with impaired driving in fatal August crash west of Red Deer

A woman has been charged with impaired driving almost three months after a fatal crash west of Red Deer.

It happened on Aug. 5 at around 11:15 p.m. on Highway 11A in Red Deer County.

RCMP said at the time a vehicle driving west collided nearly head-on with an eastbound vehicle. A passenger in the eastbound vehicle died.

A third vehicle driving west was also involved in the crash, but was not as severely impacted.

Bobbi Crotty, 24, faces several charges including impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

Crotty is set to appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Nov. 15.

RCMP said in a statement Monday that no further information would be provided.
