Man charged, victim identified in Pineridge homicide: Calgary police

Police have identified a Calgary murder victim found in a northeast home Friday.

Randeep Singh Dhaliwal, 39, died as the result of an assault, investigators said Wednesday.

In a release Monday afternoon, police said they were called to a home in Pineridge Friday afternoon after a body was discovered inside.

The man was found dead in the home in the 100 block of Pineside Place N.E.

Police said detectives were given information that led them to a suspect in the case. They believe the victim and the accused, who knew each other through mutual acquaintances, got into a verbal altercation which led to the fatal assault.

Christopher Thomas Dejarlais, 41, of Calgary, was arrested Sunday and has been charged with second-degree murder.
