Winnipeg pedestrian dies after collision on Main Street

A pedestrian has died following a collision at Main Street and Anderson early Friday morning.

Police said the woman, in her eighties, was struck around 6 a.m.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition but police said late Friday afternoon she had died from her injuries.

Winnipeg police closed all southbound lanes of Main Street between Church and St. Johns after a collision at the intersection.

The traffic unit was on scene for several hours investigating.
