Charge laid against London marijuana dispensary employee

The London Relief Centre quietly opened its doors on Richmond Row last week. 980 CFPL

One man has been charged after a local marijuana dispensary was investigated for a second time.

Police say the investigation by London Police Service’s Community Oriented Response Unit (COR Unit) began on Nov. 27.

The focus was the London Relief Centre, a marijuana dispensary located on Richmond Row.

Officers seized $16,000 in cash as well as $2,000 worth of pot-infused edibles.

Following the three-week investigation, police say 27-year-old Michael Leeder of Mississauga was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Leeder, an employee of the London Relief Centre, was also charged earlier with breaching an undertaking.

An undertaking is a document created by either a court or the police that places the person being charged with an offence under certain conditions. Basically, if someone is charged with an offence, they may have to sign an undertaking when being released by police, and if they do not follow the conditions of that undertaking, they can be charged with breaching an undertaking.

In September, the same business was investigated and resulted in multiple charges against five men.
