On Thursday morning, an investigation was conducted by the Regina Police Service (RPS) after a suspicious package was found on a sidewalk in downtown Regina.

At 7:20 a.m. on March 1, the Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) and RPS began the investigation in the 1700 block of Hamilton Street.

By 10:00 a.m, after the EDU had assessed the object, they were able to confirm that there is no threat to public safety and police have officially cleared the area.

The package is considered to be non-criminal and no charges were laid in this incident.
