Charges have been laid against four people after major police search related to a drug investigation at an Okotoks property late Tuesday afternoon.
A large police presence could be seen as Okotoks RMCP executed a search warrant at the home. Earlier in the day, police said in a news release that the public could expect a “large police presence in the South Railway area of town while the search takes place.”
Police went on to say there was no risk to public safety but that residents should stay away from the area.
Christopher Desjardin, 37, is facing five charges: one count each of possession of stolen property and theft under $5,000 and three counts of breach of recognizance. Desjardin has been remanded into custody.
Cedrick Chouinard, 27, was also arrested. He was charged with production of a controlled substance. He was released on his own recognizance, police said.

A 27-year-old woman, who was not named, was also charged with one count of production of a controlled substance. She has also been released.
Another woman, 28, is facing charges of possession of stolen property and theft under $5,000. She has been released as well.
“Cooperation between the RCMP and the public is instrumental to the success of our crime reduction efforts,” RCMP said in a release on Tuesday.
“The simple act of reporting suspicious or criminal activity provides police with important information that is used when deploying resources and applying for search warrants.”
The investigation is ongoing and RCMP asked anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP at 403-938-4202 or to contact Crime Stoppers.
