A rescue mission for a man who fell overboard a fishing vessel off the coast of Nova Scotia has been scaled back.
The Canadian military’s Joint Task Force Atlantic spokesperson Maj. Amber Bineau told Global News the man fell overboard around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Maj. Amber Bineau said the incident happened about 35 NM southeast, off Halifax’s coast, and that the man was a member of a four-person fishing crew.

The Canadian Coast Guard and several fishing boats are all involved in the search, but two military helicopters that were helping have now been pulled.

The man’s identity has not been released.
Transportation Safety Board investigators have been sent to Three Fathom Harbour to look into what happened.
