The Barrie police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating an SUV in connection with an alleged hit and run.

According to police, on March 2 at around 12:30 p.m., a pedestrian who was helping a lost transport truck driver was hit by a vehicle travelling northbound on Huronia Road, just past McKay Road.

Police say the pedestrian landed in a ditch and suffered serious injuries.

According to police, the driver failed to remain on scene to help the injured pedestrian and continued northbound on Huronia Road.

Police have obtained further information regarding damages to the vehicle and are appealing to the public for assistance in locating the driver.

Police say the vehicle is a smaller SUV which is dark in colour. Officers expect the car to have front-end damage, including a dented hood and a broken windshield.

Police are looking to speak with the driver of the vehicle in question, or anyone who may have information related to the incident.
