Swim advisories have been issued for Minets Point Beach and Centennial Beach in Barrie due to elevated levels of bacteria.
Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) issued the advisories on Wednesday.

According to the advisories, elevated bacteria levels may increase the risk of minor skin, eye, ear, nose and throat infections, as well as stomach illnesses.
While an advisory is not a beach closure, the city recommends that those who choose to swim during an advisory avoid dunking their heads and swallowing the water.
