A watermain break downtown hampered some Londoners’ morning commute.
The City of London said the eastbound lane of Dundas Street was closed between Clarence and Wellington Streets Tuesday morning.
“That part of Dundas is scheduled to be renewed next year,” said Mat da Cost, with the city’s water operations department.

“It’s just old infrastructure, and over time things fail. These emergencies pop up and we deal with them as they come.”
Da Costa anticipated repair work would cause delays to cyclists and drivers for most of the day, but by 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, the city had tweeted that Dundas had reopened.
The watermain break came roughly a week after another watermain break shut down a section of Oxford Street between Richmond and Talbot for most of the day.
