A male employee has been fired from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Regional Supply company after top brass accused him of creating an ID badge falsely identifying him as a doctor.
The WRHA sent a memo Thursday stating the man was fired Jan. 31.
“The WRHA has reason to believe that he has created false ID badges (may include the WRHA Logo) which could falsely identify him as a Medical Director or Doctor.”
The memo includes a photo of the badge and the man, and asks employees to call police and on-site security if the man is spotted.

The WRHA would not go into more specifics.
“We are not able to comment on confidential employment matters,” said spokesperson Cory Kolt in an email to Global News.
“However, in this case the WRHA felt it necessary to alert other health care providers in the province about this situation. We have found no evidence of any patients being put at risk.”
Winnipeg police would not confirm or deny if an investigation is underway, but they did confirm no charges have yet to be laid against the accused former employee.
Global News is not naming the individual because he has not been charged with any crimes. If formal charges are laid, the story will be updated to include the person’s name, image, and charges.
