Saskatoon police detectives believe a 23-year-old woman was held and assaulted at an apartment building in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood over the weekend.

An injured person was reported lying on the ground at a back alley in the 300-block of Avenue R South at around midnight on Feb. 9. The caller told police three people were running from the scene.

Officers found a woman who was taken to hospital by paramedics for treatment of multiple serious injuries.

Police said evidence led them to a nearby apartment in the 1700-block of 20th Street West where they believe an assault and unlawful confinement took place.
