The officer stopped the vehicle and suspected the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The OPP officer contacted Peterborough Police Service which at the same time was investigating a nearby collision. The investigation led police to believe the pickup truck fled the original collision scene.
Christopher Yaxley, 26, from Otonabee-South Monaghan Township was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failure to stop at the scene of a collision.
