A new summer co-op program is launching in Guelph that will help students looking to start a career in the skilled trades.
The Upper Grand District School Board said the Summer School Skilled Trades Co-op consists of six weeks in class (one class per week in the evening), followed by a four-week work placement.
“Students will explore the realities and opportunities of the modern workplace, while refining their employability skills and earning two high school credits,” the board said in a statement.
The program, which is being launched with 2nd Chance Employment, is open to all students in Grade 12/12+.
