Winnipeg lifts annual snow route parking ban

Here’s a sign spring is on the way for Winnipeggers — Thursday marks the first day that the city’s annual snow route parking ban is no longer in place.

The ban was officially lifted at 7:01 a.m. Thursday.

The annual snow ban prohibited vehicles from being parked on designated snow routes between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.

There are no other city winter parking bans in place.

A total of 11,230 Annual Snow Route Parking Ban tickets were handed out by the city between Dec. 1 2018 and Feb. 28 2019.

That’s down from last years totals of 15,044 tickets given between Dec. 1, 2017 and Feb. 28, 2018.
