UPDATE:
Police have released a photo taken from video surveillance of the U-Haul used in Thursday’s attempted break and enter in Lake Country.
“The video seized by our investigators depicts on the side of the truck a graphic for the province of Ontario commemorating the underground railroad,” said Cpl. Meghan Foster.
“If a U-Haul truck with this specific graphic is seen we are asking that its whereabouts be reported to police.”

An attempted break and enter in Lake Country was foiled on Thursday, thanks to the home owner’s son.
According to RCMP, the incident occurred around 12:40 p.m., along the 11300 block of Pretty Road, when a man broke into the residence. The suspect was confronted and it’s believed a scuffle ensued.
Police say when they arrived, the victim had sustained minor injuries from confronting the male suspect.
Meanwhile, the suspect reportedly fled the scene. It’s believed he was also injured.
“The suspect left the house on foot and proceeded to a waiting nearby U-Haul vehicle that was used to flee the area,” said RCMP Cpl. Meghan Foster.
Police said officers and Police Dog Services immediately conducted search patrols in the area for the suspect. Police added that the residence has been secured, and the Forensic Identification Section has been called in to gather and process evidence.

The suspect is described to be in his mid-20s and approximately 5-foot-8 with a medium build. He was dressed in all black and was wearing an orange and yellow safety vest.
