A woman is facing impaired-driving charges following a two-vehicle crash on County Road 28 in the Municipality of Port Hope on Thursday night – Mar 1, 2019

A Hamilton Township woman is accused of driving with four times the legal limit of alcohol in her system following a crash just north of Port Hope on Thursday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., Northumberland OPP and paramedics responded to a two-vehicle collision on County Road 28 between Lakeview Lane and Rice Lake Drive North near the entrance to the community of Bewdley, about 15 kilometres north of Port Hope.

Police say a southbound Subaru hatchback crossed the centre line and collided with a northbound Honda sedan.

Only minor injuries were reported.

OPP say the driver of the Subaru was found to be under the influence of alcohol, registering four times the legal limit.

Colleen Dunn, 23, of Hamilton Township, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs; operation while impaired-blood-alcohol 80 plus and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

She was released from custody and will appear in court in Cobourg on April 3.

County Road 28 was closed for a short period of time for removal of the vehicles.
