Joella Foulds and Max MacDonald, who are longtime friends of MacNeil’s, are organizing the concert as a way to provide the wider community an opportunity to come together and remember the Cape Breton singer.
A funeral was held Monday for MacNeil in her hometown of Big Pond, but MacDonald says not everyone in the community could attend.
