Peel police identify man, 32, as victim of city’s 4th homicide in 2019

A 32-year-old man has died following a daylight shooting at a plaza in Mississauga.

Peel police were called to the the intersection of Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road just before 11:20 a.m. The victim was located in the parking lot of the plaza with gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Michael Deabaitua-Schulde from Mississauga.

Police said a suspect was seen fleeing the scene east on Dundas Street East.

Mini School and Maya Bee daycares were placed in a hold-and-secure as police investigated the incident, but those have since been lifted.
