Sage Creek neighbourhood gets new school

WINNIPEG – Residents of Sage Creek in southeast Winnipeg have had a wish come true.

The area will get a kindergarten to Grade 8 school and a 114-space daycare, Premier Greg Selinger and Education Minister Nancy Allan announced Wednesday from the empty field where the school will be built.

Construction will begin in 2014 and the building will be ready for the 2016 school year, they said.

The 68,000-square-foot building will cost roughly $20 million.
