The Red River is now expected to crest at a level similar to 2006. That year, Highway 75 was closed for 18 days.

The rapid melt expected this weekend may cause ice jams and overland road flooding.

The crest on the Red River is expected at the United States border as early as the second week of May and in Winnipeg a week later.
