92-year-old woman in hospital after being struck by own vehicle in bizarre accident in Oakville

OAKVILLE, Ont. – Police say a 92-year-old woman is fighting for her life after a bizarre accident in Oakville, Ont.

It happened Wednesday evening in a church parking lot on Valleyridge Drive south of Dundas Street West in the city southwest of Toronto.

Halton regional police say it appears the vehicle involved became stuck on the curb.

As the driver was attempting to reverse, police say she fell out of the open driver’s door and was struck by her own vehicle.

A pedestrian was also struck.

Police say a 92-year-old woman was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition and an 84-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

They’re not saying which woman was driving the car.

No charges have been laid and police are looking for anyone with information to contact them.
