Police investigating after body found in Pitt River

METRO VANCOUVER – Police are investigating after a passerby discovered a body floating in the Pitt River.

Coquitlam RCMP spokesman Jamie Chung said police received a call at about 7:45 a.m. He said a man who works in the area saw a body in the water near the intersection of Argue Road and Pitt River road.

He said investigators are on scene, but still don’t know the gender or approximate age of the person.

Chung said he’s hoping to have more information for the public later this afternoon.
