A cyclist in Edmonton was taken to hospital with serious injuries early Saturday morning after she was struck by a car in a crosswalk. The collision happened around 4:20 a.m. Saturday.
The 19-year-old cyclist was travelling west on 82 Avenue when she was struck by a dark-coloured, four-door sedan that police said was attempting to turn north onto 75 Street from Whyte Avenue.

The woman was taken to hospital by paramedics in serious, but stable condition.
Police say the vehicle left the scene.
Edmonton Police Service’s major collisions unit is investigating. Officers are looking for any witnesses to the alleged hit-and-run as well as anyone who has information about the driver, who police say fled the scene.
