Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing on Cunard Street

A 32-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Halifax’s north end on Thursday.

Police rushed to the 5500 block of Cunard Street at around 7:20 p.m., and arrested a woman without incident.

A 33-year-old man was transported to the hospital, but a police statement describes the status of his injuries as “not known at this time.”

Officers remained on scene for several hours, marking evidence on the stairwell of a building near the intersection of Cunard Street at Gottingen Street. They were stationed on several floors of the building, visible in the windows.

Jade Louise Cyr will appear in Halifax provincial court on Friday to face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon as a result of the incident.
