It’s illegal to hold a boxing or Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) event without a provincial or city athletic commission, but Hill says councillors are concerned about the potential liability if the city took on the job itself.

Saskatoon council will debate whether to ask the province for a commission or set up its own body tonight.
