A man in his 60s has been pronounced dead after being hit by a vehicle in Toronto’s east end.
Toronto police responded shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Danforth and Pharmacy avenues, just east of Victoria Park Avenue.
Paramedics said the victim was rushed to a trauma centre for treatment. He later succumbed to those injuries in hospital.
Family friends of the victim later identified him to Global News as Mohammed Chowdhury.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle did remain on scene.
