MONTREAL – Quebec’s controversial language bill is on track to become law after passing its second reading with a relatively strong majority on Thursday.
Bill 14 was passed with a vote count of 67 in favour to 42 against.

Parti Quebecois MNAs along with a number of Coalition Avenir Quebec and Quebec Solidaire MNAs voted in favour of the bill which proposes to amend the Charter of the French language in the province.
Liberal Party MNAs voted to oppose the motion.
