Update: The Regina Police Service has charged Douglas James Fletcher with manslaughter in the death of 61-year-old Paul Richard Brule.
Regina police announced Saturday morning that a death investigation begun late Thursday night is now being treated as a homicide case.
Police said they received a report of a dead person in the 1800 block of St. John Street Thursday at around 11:20 p.m.
Paramedics were called to the scene and confirmed a man was dead, according to police.

The coroner‘s office, forensic identification and major crimes units were initially brought in to assist in the investigation.
The identity of the victim has been confirmed, police said, but have chose not to release the name at this time.
Police say the investigation will be continued by the major crimes unit in conjunction with the Coroners Service of Saskatchewan.
