The Regina Food Bank will have two new vehicles to help with their operations.
SaskEnergy and Bennett Dunlop Ford each donated a vehicle to the Food Bank. A 2003 Ford E-250 cargo van has been donated by SaskEnergy and Bennett Dunlop has donated a brand new Transit Connect.
Both vehicles will be on the road six days a week as they assist with picking up food from grocery stories and making deliveries to other agencies.
“These vehicles are going to be put to very good use for us,” the Regina Food Bank’s CEO Wayne Hellquist said. “They’re an ideal size for much of the work we do in the community.”
When word came of the new cars, the Food Bank retired several of their old ones because they weren’t as fuel efficient as the new vehicles. Now the Food Bank can spend more money on food instead of spending it on gas.
