UPDATE: Police name victim of suspicious death at Edmonton seniors facility

EDMONTON- Police have identified the victim of a suspicious death at an Edmonton seniors facility, which is being investigated as a homicide.

Officers were called to Norwood Golden Manor, a seniors assisted living building located at 95th Street and 117th Avenue. They were called around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday and found a male senior dead in his apartment suite.

The man has been identified as 67-year-old Lawrence Semeniuk.

Officers say the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the man’s body were suspicious. The scene was secured for several hours Wednesday, while homicide detectives and forensic investigators were called in to investigate.

EPS Homicide Section continues to investigate this death. While the results of the autopsy are pending toxicology results, the death will continue to be investigated as a homicide.
