Woman struck on Montreal Road in Ottawa treated for head injury: paramedics

Ottawa paramedics treated a woman in her 50s for a head injury and took her to hospital after she was struck by a vehicle east of downtown Ottawa on Wednesday morning.

The collision happened just east of the intersection of Montreal Road and St. Laurent Boulevard, according to first responders. Both police and paramedics were called to the area at around 8:15 a.m.

Shortly after, Ottawa police said a pedestrian suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in a collision involving a car.

Paramedics said later Wednesday morning that they treated the woman for a head injury and took her to the local trauma centre in “serious but stable condition.”

Montreal Road was fully reopened to traffic just before 8:45 a.m., according to police.
