Shaw opens free WiFi service for all of southern Alberta

TORONTO – Southern Alberta citizens will have free access to Shaw Communication’s WiFi Go network until further notice, the company announced in a release Friday.

Where available, citizens in Calgary, Lethbridge, High River, Canmore and Okotoks will be able to log in to the wireless network without needing a Shaw account or password.

“We are deeply affected by the tragic circumstances our communities are currently experiencing,” said Brad Shaw, Chief Executive Officer, Shaw Communications. “We’re going to do whatever we can to assist citizens in staying connected and receiving the critical updates they need.”

In order to access the Shaw Go WiFi network, citizens are instructed to scan for available WiFi networks on compatible devices and connect to the “ShawGo” network.
