SASKATOON – A number of severe thunderstorm watches have been issued for parts of southern and central Saskatchewan.

Environment Canada says hot and humid conditions are creating a favourable environment for the development of severe weather this afternoon and into the evening.

The storms are expected to develop along the Alberta-Saskatchewan border and then slowly move eastward and intensify.
