CALGARY- The Calgary Zoo has announced another round of layoffs, just one day after announcing nearly 300 workers had been let go.
The zoo is facing $50 million worth of damage from flooding that destroyed the grounds and killed some animals.

As a result, 161 permanent and part time employees from the catering, facilities, horticulture and sales departments lost their jobs, along with 126 seasonal staff made up of summer students and teens working at concession stands.
On Thursday evening, the zoo posted on their Facebook page that 15 City of Calgary employees who were part of the horticulture team were laid off.
“It is very hard to say goodbye to friends and colleagues during this difficult time for the zoo,” the post read.
The zoo will not be able to resume full operations until late November, but is expected to reopen in stages starting on July 31.
