Police remained at a south Edmonton motel Monday as officers investigated a suspicious death that was reported Sunday night.
At around 8 p.m. Sunday, police were called to reports of an assault at the Royal Lodge on Gateway Boulevard at 38 Avenue.
Police said a person was found dead inside one of the motel suites.
Police tape closed off a large section of the motel parking lot and a white sheet could be seen hanging from the second floor covering a ground-floor suite.
On Monday, the EPS Canine Unit was also on scene, and a dog could be seen sweeping the ditch just off Gateway Boulevard.
Police did not say if they had a suspect(s) in custody.
