REGINA – A rejected petition that called for a referendum on an upgrade to Regina’s waste water treatment plant is expected to surface tonight at city council.
The petition was put together by a group that wants public input on the upgrade, but the city clerk’s office ruled last Friday that the number of signatures needed to trigger a vote was insufficient.

Regina Water Watch — the group behind the petition — has said it will consider its legal options if council rejects having a vote.
