Global News is projecting NDP incumbent Carol Hughes getting re-elected in Algoma–Manitoulin–Kapuskasing.
The riding of Algoma–Manitoulin–Kapuskasing is located in northern Ontario.
It is comprised of parts of the Algoma district, parts of the Thunder Bay district, parts of the Sudbury district, Manitoulin and part of the Cochrane district.
NDP MP Carol Hughes has held the seat since 2008. In the last federal election, she won with 41.6 per cent of the vote.
Since 2015, Hughes has been the assistant deputy speaker and deputy chair of committees of the whole. Hughes previously served as the New Democrat Critic for First Nations Health and Assistant Deputy Speaker.
