TORONTO – A rare lunar phenomenon occurred Tuesday, drawing many shutterbugs out of their homes to capture images of something that only happens once in a Blue Moon.
The clear night’s sky provided a perfect backdrop for both amateur and professional photographers to capture the last Blue Moon we’ll see until 2015.

A Blue Moon is defined as the second full moon to appear within the same calendar month.
However, only one full moon will appear this month.
According to the folks at Space.com, Tuesday’s full moon qualifies as a Blue Moon if you follow an old-school rule of astronomy.
