MONTREAL – What’s the best way to avoid traffic headaches and steer clear of orange cones in this city?

The answer is simple, leave your car at home!

On Friday, Montreal joins hundreds of cities around the world taking part in Car-Free Day.

The event is designed to encourage people to use public transportation.
Every year a different part of the city is closed off to automobiles and for the eleventh edition, it’s Old Montreal.

That means no cars can pass through St. Antoine St. W. between University and St. Alexandre St. between 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.
