REGINA – Reginans are finally heading to the polls today for the city’s first referendum in two decades after months of debating the P3 funding model for the new wastewater treatment plant.
Earlier on Wednesday, Mayor Michael Fougere and Regina Water Watch spokesman Jim Holmes were out at their respective polling stations casting their ballot.

“This is not an election it’s a referendum, it’s not about electing people it’s about an idea so that is diffrent,” Said Regina Mayor Michael Fougere. “I think people are understanding that this is a pocket book issue, it’s about doing the right thing and going with what council agreed unanimously to do back in February.”
“I think we are feeling very confident, I was down at the campaign headquarters and it was buzzing with some nervous energy, so I dropped some reminders to vote in some mailboxes and that felt good,” said Regina Water Watch spokesman Jim Holmes.
