Police are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting in Hamilton’s east end.
Hamilton Police Service spokesperson Indy Bharaj says the incident happened in a residential neighbourhood near Dartmouth Gate and North Service Road around 12:30 p.m. in Stoney Creek.
It’s alleged the man shot at was walking his dog northbound on Dartmouth when a vehicle stopped and a pair of men exited the car.

“A vehicle traveling southbound on Dartmouth gate stopped, two individuals got out of the vehicle, walked behind the individual and took what we believe is two shots at … the adult male,” Bharaj said at the scene.

“The adult male fled the area, as did the suspects in a vehicle.”
There were no injuries.
Bharaj said there’s no indication yet if the man was targeted.
An investigation is ongoing.
