One person has died and two people are unaccounted for after a boat capsized on Spray Lakes Reservoir, Alta.
A fourth person was able to make it to shore and has been taken to a hospital in Canmore, according to RCMP.
“Unfortunately, this happened at approximately 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. and there was a delay due to the lack of cell phone and radio coverage in the area,” Cpl. Susan Richter said. “There was a couple of hours between when the event happened and when emergency services were able to get there.”

The boat capsized near the Spray Lakes Campground, approximately 24 kilometres south of Canmore.
RCMP are asking people to avoid the area and the Campground entrance has been taped off.
Emergency crews could not confirm what caused the boat to capsize or whether the occupants were wearing life jackets.

Kananaskis Emergency Services is coordinating the search for the two missing boaters with support from Alberta conservation officers and RCMP.
“They have been using boats. I have the understanding that there are sonar capabilities on some of these boats,” Richter added. “There have been helicopters out aiding with the search today.”
First responders say the survivor is dealing with shock and other physical symptoms as a result of being in the extremely cold water, as well as the emotional trauma of the incident.
