One man was taken to hospital and another is in custody after a stabbing in Toronto, police say.

In a tweet, Toronto police said the incident occurred at around 4:51 p.m., in the Gerrard Street East and Sackville Street area.

Officers said the incident occurred “in or near a building.”

“Reports of (a) man stabbed,” the tweet read.

In an update, Toronto police said the man suffered serious but not life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

According to police, one man is in custody.

“No one else outstanding,” officers said in a tweet.
