TORONTO – The City of Toronto and Waterfront Toronto will hold a media briefing Tuesday morning to outline the next phase of the Gardiner East Environmental Assessment.
The assessment will determine the future of the Gardiner Expressway East and Lake Shore Boulevard East from Jarvis Street to Leslie Street.

Four alternative solutions are being considered within the study area: maintaining, improving, replacing or removing the elevated expressway.
Last December, a Global News investigation detailed an alarming number of issues with Toronto’s aging and crumbling Gardiner Expressway, from falling concrete to a risk of “punch-through” of the bridge deck by a vehicle.

Citizens will have an opportunity to air their concerns during a public meeting at the Toronto Reference Library on Wednesday, Oct. 16 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
