Residents of Fort St. James have cast their votes for their next mayor in the 2022 B.C. municipal election.
Global News is projecting that Martin Elphee, with just over 60 per cent of the vote, has defeated incumbent Bob Motion in the two-person race for mayor.
Projected to win a council seat are Corbett Boschman, Kris Nielsen, Judith Friesen and incumbent Jennifer Howell.

At the southern end of Stuart Lake in central B.C., Fort St. James is located about 50 kilometres north of Vanderhoof and just over 160 kilometres northwest of Prince Geroge along Highways 16 and 27.
