A Saskatchewan woman accused of faking her death and that of her son then illegally crossing the border into the United States has been released from jail.
The 48-year-old woman walked out of Saskatoon provincial court Friday evening after being fitted for an ankle bracelet.
Still in her jail uniform of grey slacks and shirt, the woman shielded her face with paper.
The woman was quickly surrounded by family and friends, some who have not seen her since July when she was reported missing.

The woman, who can not be named due to a publication ban, didn’t take questions from the media and fled in a car that was parked nearby.
An hour earlier, provincial court Judge Lua Gibb released her on 10-thousand dollar bail.
She is charged with public mischief and child abduction in contravention of a custody order.

In the U-S she also faces to charges of identity fraud for allegedly crossing the border with fake I-D.
