A Penticton senior man has died and a senior woman was sent to hospital after a fire at an apartment building.
Emergency crews responded to a three-alarm blaze shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday.
A stretch of Lakeshore Drive was closed for several hours as firefighters worked to douse the fire
“One apartment unit was fully engulfed in flames,” said Const. Tyler Peters.

“One elderly male was found deceased and an elderly female was transported to the Penticton Regional Hospital for medical treatment for smoke inhalation-related injuries.”
No other injuries were reported, according to police.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although police said investigators do not believe criminality is a factor.
